J. Anthony (Tony) Yuse
J. Anthony (Tony ) Yuse is a Columbus City School teacher of English and Language Arts who has loved words and books since his early days as a CCS student. After graduating from Heidelberg College, he lived in California for a few years before returning to his childhood neighborhood to buy a house four blocks from where he grew up. He soon began teaching in the same district that he had attended as a child. Tony also has received several awards and honors as a classroom teacher but is most proud of his M.Ed in Literacy, which he received from Ashland University.
Tony has worked as a freelance writer for Kent Publishing, Harcourt Education and Focus Curriculum. His story “White Dove”, about an abused and then rescued paint pony, was magazine published in 2007. He has also written American History curriculum that is currently published and used by Columbus City Schools. He is a member of NCTE, SCBWI and a supporter of Streetside Stories. When not teaching or daydreaming, he spends his time relaxing with his wife and three children.
Little known fact #1: He once bought a showroom condition 1953 Studebaker Commander (4 door sedan) for no apparent reason. He sold it a few months later after he came to the sad realization that there was no power steering in 1953.
